	5 Star Warranty has always maintained that purchasing an extended vehicle service contract that is backed by a Risk Retention Group (RRG) is not your safest bet. This is why we only offer a directly insured extended service contract. Apparently, we are not alone in our assessment. 5 Star Warranty has obtained this document sent from Ford Motor Credit regarding their stand on RRG’s. We believe that many other major automotive lending institutions will follow suit.


	As we have stated many times through out our website, we are unaware of any RRG in the automotive service contract industry that has an AM Best “A-“ rating or better. The information provided is what many online extended service contract providers and automotive dealers would prefer you did not know.

	Note: If a major lending institution will not finance a service contract that is backed by a RRG (without an AM Best A- rating or better), why would you purchase one?
