Manufacturers have been required by federal law to provide emission coverage for vehicles since 1972. Emission control related components are covered for the first 2 years or 24,000 miles and specified major components are covered for the first 8 years or 80,000 miles. Please refer to your owner’s manual to determine the length of coverage that applies to your vehicle.

Many other service contract providers do not cover emission systems at all or will charge you up to several hundred dollars for this coverage.
